How to create and share a report folder with Report Folders Sharing Enabled

If you have Folder Sharing enabled in your instance, this feature allows users to selectively share reports and dashboards with other users, roles, public user groups, or portal users. (To enable this feature go to Setup, Customize, Reports & Dashboards, Folder Sharing, then check the setting and click Save.)

Create a Folder.

Go to the Reports tab

In the folder side bar, click on the new folder button.

Choose the type of folder you would like to create.

Name your folder in the Report Folder Label field. Click Save.

The Folder Unique Name should automatically populate based on your Report Folder Label.

Share your folder.

Go to the Reports tab. Find the folder and click Share on the the dropdown menu.

You can share your folder with specific users by clicking on Users.

Find the user you want to share with in the list provided and click the Share button.

Designated the type of Access that user should have to this folder.

Access Types:

  • Viewer: View, refresh, run.
  • Editor: Viewer plus edit, move, save, and delete.
  • Manager: Editor plus share and rename folder.

Click Done.

Click Done.

Click Close.
