Solicitation Preferences

Solicitation preferences for contacts in the KELL360 are handled by a collection of checkbox fields on the contact record and parent household account record. By default, KELL360 is set up to manage these preferences on the household account (with household preferences being copied down to all contacts within the household). Individual contacts can be opted out of the household’s preferences and updated independently. Additionally, any contact that is marked as deceased within a household will be opted out of all types of solicitation and will be marked as opted out of the household’s preferences.

Alternatively, KELL360 can be configured so that solicitation preferences are always set on the contact record and not managed at the household level at all. Deceased contacts are still opted out of all solicitation preferences.

Contact Fields

Contact Fields
  • Opt Out of Account Solicitation Prefs  if this field is checked, the contact’s other solicitation preferences are independent of their household account’s preferences (this field will be hidden if you choose contact level preference management)
  • Email Opt Out  this field is always set independently for each contact instead of managed at the household level, except for household accounts marked ‘Do Not Contact’. Indicates that this contact does not want to receive email communication from your organization.
  • Do Not Call  if checked, this contact should not be contacted via telephone.
  • Do Not Contact  if checked, all other ‘opt out’ fields on the contact will automatically be checked (including Email Opt Out). This means that the contact does not want to receive any solicitation from your organization. Use this field sparingly.
  • No Solicitation  this contact should not receive direct solicitations, but would like to receive other updates from your organization (like newsletters and event invitations).
  • No Postal Mail  this contact should not receive any physical mail from your organization.

Account Fields

Account Fields
  • Account Do Not Call  if checked, all contacts (who are not opted out of household preferences) will also be marked as Do Not Call. Indicates that this household does not wish to receive phone calls from your organization.
  • Account No Postal Mail  if checked, all contacts (who are not opted out of household preferences) will also be marked as No Postal Mail. Indicates that this household does not wish to receive physical mail from your organization.
  • Account No Solicitations  if checked, all contacts (who are not opted out of household preferences) will also be marked as No Solicitations. Indicates that this household does not wish to receive solicitations from your organization (other communication like newsletters and even invitations is okay).
  • Account Do Not Contact  if checked, all contacts (who are not opted out of household preferences) will also be marked as Do Not Contact and will be opted out of all other solicitation preferences (including email opt out). Indicates that this household does not wish to be contacted by your organization. Use this field sparingly.

Solicitation Status at a Glance

On every contact within KELL360, you can see a quick summary of that contact's solicitation status in a field named Solicitation Status. If the contact is opted out of any type of solicitation, you will see a thumbs down icon in this field. Otherwise, you will see a thumbs up icon.
